iPad vs The World – Tablet Comparison

I spend many of my mornings each week volunteering as a Teacher’s Assistant for the multimedia teacher at our local college. While sometimes I spend hours compiling spreadsheets and spellchecking brochures, other times I get to have a load of fun. Recently, our college got a grant to purchase tablets for the multimedia program. An iPad Air, iPad Mini, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Google Nexus, and Kindle Fire HDX. I’ve had the fun time of adding screen protectors, buying apps, and getting to know the tablets. The longer I play with them, the more I see their strengths and weaknesses. Watch Dogs Graphics Downgrade – But is it?

There’s been a lot of fuss surrounding the recent Watch Dogs trailer. The few gameplay clips we saw appear to have downgraded graphics from the E3 gameplay we saw back in 2013. Has Watch Dogs seen a graphical downgrade? Has Ubisoft been lying to us about how good this game is? Is Watch Dogs worth buying? Are the aliens behind this?

Why is there still violent Xbox One hate?

The Xbox One had a rocky start. At E3 in 2013, they announced a boatload of mistakes that nobody, including me, wanted. The console also was $100 more than it’s competitor, the Playstation 4. Considering the PS4 technically had better RAM, why would anyone pay for such a failure of a console? Problem is, Microsoft has fixed many of those problems, and PS4 and developed even more problems. Why Flappy Bird (and clones) are atrocious

In case you’ve been on a space mission for the past few months, you’ve probably heard of the bizarre iPhone app ‘Flappy Bird’. It’s a tiny freebie endless runner, trying to get your horribly-controlled bird through Mario pipe gaps. It’s a simplistic concept, and while I have no problem with simplistic concepts, I have a huge problem with the outrageous publicity it’s gotten. Now, Flappy Bird’s developer (who I have a lot of respect for) pulled the app, which only spiked it’s popularity. But…why? Why is this mindless, poorly constructed app getting more recognition than other apps who deserve the publicity? And why is Flappy Bird, and it’s clones, an atrocity against gaming? Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare Frustrations

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare is an unusual game. It’s a third-person shooter that seems loosely based off Team Fortress 2, but themed after the amazing tower defense game (and the less impressive sequel). But hey, if it’s fun, who cares if it’s odd? That’s kinda been their theme, “Shooters just got weird”. And hey, it’s nice to see an E-rated shooter. But there are a ton of frustrating things related to this game, and while I’m not deep enough into it to give a full review, I’ll give my first thoughts.

Best Various Dead Rising 3 Weapons

Dead Rising 3 is full of weapons. With well over 100 different combo weapons, not counting all the random sofas, computers, and scissors you can use, DR3 has a never ending expanse of cool weapons. Forza 5 Review – 6/10 Paint Scratches

I currently own 5 titles for the Xbox One. Two of those have previous-gen quality graphics, and two of those has stylized graphics. Forza 5 is a graphical beast, a near photo-realistic game that is incredibly detailed. The cars are beautiful, the reflect properly, take realistic damage, and are just a blast to drive. That is, if you can control the car. I’m going to be reviewing the realistic racer Forza 5, one of the most advertised launch titles. 

Xbox One Impressions

It’s no small feat to look at an entire console and summarize it in a single article. The Xbox One has been in development for years and years, and is an extremely detailed machine. I’m not going to do a strict review, because I don’t have a PS4 to compare it to, but I’ll talk about what I’ve liked, disliked, found interesting, and more.
